June Update

1.  Dragonfly brought in a healthy trailer full of new material on Friday, May 30th.  Items included 24 peonies, four different varieties, most of which are white.  Weigela, azalea, rudbeckia (brown-eyed susan), and a whole raft of different grasses (all perennial) that look really enticing.  Take a look, everything is on display outside — finally!

2.  Our perennials are looking great and have sized up nicely.  We have tons of lillies, in every color of the rainbow, astilbe, lupine, bridal wreath, clematis — it is still a great time of year to put them in.  It’s early!  Weeds have barely begun their annual assault and rain is on the way.

3.  Bloom Cafe continues to grow.  We’ve added staff and are open for coffee and baked goods at 9:00 — 3:00 on Thursday, Friday, Saturday.  We’ve taken to popping the cafe open, unannounced, on Wednesday and Sunday as well, depending on food availability. So, if you are at the garden center, sneak a peek, there is not a nicer patio in western Wisconsin.  I can say that with some authority as the GC of the former Farm Table building in downtown Amery.

The next three weeks are a sprint up to summer solstice, World Music Day, so expect the energies of the season to fully blossom in the weeks ahead.
