Dragonfly Gardens Full of Beautiful Plants!
Garden Centers are crazy businesses in many ways. Not least that every hardware outlet, grocery store and gas station, for about a month, decides to throw up plastic tunnels, get pallets of bagged material and display flowers in imitation of being a garden center.
How many competitors does that make in the month of May? Hundreds and hundreds. Filled with industrial plant knock-offs, hanging baskets on steroids, and bagged amendments laced with green treated wood fragments.
And you can bet, they wouldn’t being doing it at all if there wasn’t money to be made pretending to be a garden center.
Still, you can’t imitate healthy live material. And you won’t regret having taken the time to visit a real garden center by early July. Quality matters when it comes to plants and soil and a trained eye.
Right now, 10 days from the end of the magic month of May, these things are on full display. At Dragonfly the plants keep getting bigger and better and more beautiful. Our perennials are drawing rave reviews, our vegetables are soft and strong, heirlooms having been hand-seeded into organic soil. Our trees, shrubs and cane fruit are alive to the new season.
Yep, time to get up, get out and get into the best material this side of the St. Croix River. Memorial Day weekend is one of those times when it all comes together at Dragonfly. The beauty, the power of nature, the fulfilling race toward summer solstice. And with rain, conditions are optimal for customers to bring this all home, to that special place where beauty matters most: our yards, our gardens, our special place of home. |
