The bare root material is in at Dragonfly and looks fantastic. Here’s what you need to know: Wednesday, April 16th — Pre-order pick up. If you made a pre-order of five trees or more, you can pick them up from Noon to 5:00 p.m. Don’t forget: you will need to pay the balance on your order, if you haven’t paid in full. No worries if you can’t make it on Wednesday. Your trees are picked, ready and waiting in a separate area from everyone else’s. Come any time and we will help you load. Thursday, April 17th — Bare Root Sale is open to Newsletter Subscribers from Noon to 5:00 p.m. You’ve suffered through the emails, now ii’s time to benefit from your subscription. We will have a POS set up in the pole shed. You will really want the first shot at getting the best material. Friday, April 18th — Sale is open to the public. Come to the pole shed in the back of the Dragonfly complex. Open: 9:00 to 5:00. Saturday, April 19th — Bare Root Sale continues in the back pole shed. First Saturday is always a fun event. Sunday, April 20th — Dragonfly is closed in observance of Easter. Tuesday, April 22nd, Earth Day, Dragonfly Opens! The annuals, the baskets, the perennials, porch pots, seeds — We are finally open for good ! Notes: there are some real gems this year, including Service Berry Trees, Japanese Lilac Trees (including Ivory Silk), mulberries, prairie cascade willows, black ice plums, mesabi cherries, Dolgo Crab (edible), Juicy Jewel Asian Pears and Canada red select cherry. The Pagoda Dogwood, which has been in short supply the last couple years, did make it into the sale. There is one Ciontender peach left from the group of ten we were allotteed. Who will get it? And don’t go to sleep on shrubs: Cardinal Dogwood group is bigger than ever, Currants, Bloomerang lilacs — including in tree form, witch hazel, forsythia (two kinds), a ton of raspberries, (six kinds), it’s an impressive group of shrubs this year. Come one, come all. If you can’t make it early in the sale, we should still be at it into the beginning of May. |
